This document describes the Funambol JavaME Common API library, which purpose is giving support and providing basic functionalities to all the other components developed for the J2ME platform. These functionalities are: a persistent data storage framework, a logging framework, a framework to read different streams of byte, a thread monitoring system and a set of classes useful for data encoding and string manipulation. This library may grow in future, as new functions will be seen as common to different J2ME components.

These listed libraries are written in WTL. But it s really hard to mix both MFC & WTL together. Obviously, it s not reasonable to ask a developer or a team to giving up MFC and move to the WTL world just because there were some great controls or visual Frameworks written in WTL (there are many things that should be considered especially in a company with hundreds of developers like the company I work for). Unfortunately, there was no such good and free visual Framework in MFC until now. This approach addresses two difficulties simultaneously: 1) the range limitation of mobile robot sensors and 2) the difficulty of detecting buildings in monocular aerial images. With the suggested method building outlines can be detected faster than the mobile robot can explore the area by itself, giving the robot an ability to “see” around corners. At the same time, the approach can compensate for the absence of elevation data in segmentation of aerial images. Our experiments demonstrate that ground-level semantic information (wall estimates) allows to focus the segmentation of the aerial image to find buildings and produce a ground-level semantic map that covers a larger area than can be built using the onboard sensors.

This article presents GISCoordinate.java - a class that allows you to represent a GIS coordinate in your JAVA code in decimal degrees (38.4443, e.g. 122.33433) , minute degrees (33 44 22E, 122 33 44N), or radian degrees. Also, you can use this class to manipulate the coordinate, moving it around the globe by giving it distances in feet and direction of travel.
