I was trying to develope a programme to make a slide show of all the pictures of a folder using vb.net. I have spent lot of time in net for searching this but all in vain, I didn t get a simple programme to solve the same and lastly I gave myself a try for the same and developed the code, I have used there a folderbrowserdialogue and a timer with a picture box control and in coding I have used IO name spaces to get the pathe and folder info here is the code. program which uses hashing techniques for storing and retrieving the data. Input to the program: Some random numbers. Input will be from a file. Output: First the program reads all the input and store it properly using some hash techniques. Once your program reads the complete input,it waits for the user input (prompt to the user). User now enters some number.program displays if this number exists in the list or not. it also display the time taken in the search operation.

Compression using lempel-ziv -for a dictionary size of 2k -provide dictionary Lempel ziv algorithm is a dictionary based algorithm that addresses byte sequences from former contents instead of the original data. This algorithm consists of a rule for parsing strings of symbols from a finite alphabet into substrings, whose lengths do not exceed a prescribed integer and a coding scheme which maps these substrings sequentially into uniquely decipherable code words of fixed length. The strings are selected so that they have nearly equal probability of occurrence. Frequently-occurring symbols are grouped into longer strings while occasional symbols appear in short strings.
