The goal of this textbook is to support the teaching of digital and statistical signal processing in higher education. Particular attention is paid to the presentation of the fun- damental theory; key topics are outlined in a comprehensible way, and all areas of the subject are discussed in a fashion that aims at simplification without sacrificing accuracy.

The Audio File Library provides a uniform programming interface to standard digital audio file formats. This library allows the processing of audio data to and from audio files of many common formats (currently AIFF, AIFF-C, WAVE, NeXT/Sun .snd/.au, IRCAM, AVR, Amiga IFF/8SVX, and NIST SPHERE). In C Algorithms for Real-Time DSP, author Paul M. Embree presents a complete guide to digital signal processing techniques in the C programming language. This book is structured in such a way that it will be most useful to the engineer who is familiar with DSP and the C language, but who is not necessarily an expert in both.
