GNetWatch is a free open source Java POJO application that enables real-time graphical MONitORING and analysis of network performances through SNMP, ICMP and traffic generation modules
Magenta Systems Internet Packet MONitORING Components are a set of Delphi components designed to capture and monitor internet packets using either raw sockets or the WinPcap device driver. Hardware permitting, ethernet packets may be captured and interpreted, and statistics maintained about the traffic. Uses of packet MONitORING include totalling internet traffic by IP address and service, MONitORING external or internal IP addresses and services accessed, network diagnostics, and many other applications. The component includes two demonstration applications, one that displays raw packets, the other that totals internet traffic. The components include various filters to reduce the number of packets that need to be processed, by allowing specific IP addresses to be ignored, LAN mask to ignore local traffic, and ignore non-IP traffic such as ARP.
The need for accurate MONitORING and analysis of sequential data arises in many scientic, industrial
and nancial problems. Although the Kalman lter is effective in the linear-Gaussian
case, new methods of dealing with sequential data are required with non-standard models.
Recently, there has been renewed interest in simulation-based techniques. The basic idea behind
these techniques is that the current state of knowledge is encapsulated in a representative
sample from the appropriate posterior distribution. As time goes on, the sample evolves and
adapts recursively in accordance with newly acquired data. We give a critical review of recent
developments, by reference to oil well MONitORING, ion channel MONitORING and tracking
problems, and propose some alternative algorithms that avoid the weaknesses of the current
methods.
Nagios is a powerful host and service MONitORING program designed to run on most *NIX systems. It is written in C and designed to be fast and flexible. It has the ability to contact administrators via email, pager, or other user-defined methods.
